The market for computer sales to older citizens (50+) will grow by about 22% within the next two years (by the end of 2003). Older people with functional restrictions are less likely to have/purchase a computer. Whereas 36% of the EU 50+ population has a computer at home, only 30% of the hearing impaired do, and restricted vision and dexterity reduce the propensity to use a PC even more.
