The project is a complex promotion on the accessibility of internet, including disabled and elderly initiated and financed by the Dutch government. It is making use of the W3C standards. In co-operation with disabled people, industry and many others, existing web sites are investigated and judged with regard to their accessibility and usefulness for the target group in question.
The ultimate goal is to improve the accessibility of Dutch web sites for people with disabilities. First operational goal was to improve the accessibility of at least 100 important Dutch-orientated web sites by the end of 2001. The project is related to a number of other governmental initiatives in the promotion and uptake of ICT by minority groups in the Nertherlands.
